What is Virtual Learning Assistance (VLA)?
Virtual Learning Assistance is your answer to "What am I going to do?"
Is your child's school going to virtual learning temporarily? Or is your child's school open, but you don't feel comfortable sending them with large groups, all day, every day of the week? Are you wondering how you're going to do all of this? Do you want to give your child, and yourself, a bit of a routine during this non-routine time? With FTKP's drop-in VLA, we offer affordable care, tutoring and e-learning assistance during this time!

FAQ - Virtual learning assistance
What is the Cost?
Option 1.) Members - You can purchase our School's Out Camp Pass to get the best rate!

Option 2.) Members - There are 20, 40 or 80 hour package options that can be used. Please see here for the rates.
Option 3.) Members & Non-Members - You can use the regular drop-in rates as listed here.
What are the Days?
Tuesday-Friday (You pick when you want your child to come. There is no commitment. Want just one day of VLA? No problem! Want to keep to a structure and do Tue-Fri? Great! FTKP is as flexible as you can get! )
What are the Times?
8:00 AM-3:00 PM
What are the School's Out Camp Passes?
**The School's Out Camp Passes are the most flexible during school days off. These are for children ages 5-12 and hours can be used any time Tu-Fri. Best of all, you can just DROP-IN! Please note: these hours are only good on school days off (spring, winter, fall, PTO days, etc.) and not good during the summer breaks (see Summer Camp Pass for those hours). All unused hours expire one year from purchase. If you'd like further hours or hours that don't expire, please see our package options. SIBLINGS CAN SHARE THE PASS!
Do I have to be a Member?
No! You do NOT have to be a Member to have your child participate in VLA, however, you do have to be a Member to purchase our Pass and to get the best rates.
Do I have to Reserve a Spot?
Reservations are not required, however highly recommended.
What if the Assignments Don't Take That Long?
If all assignments get completed quickly during the time they are in our care, or if additional tutoring is needed outside of the VLA we will provide that additional support.
Do you do Live Virtual Learning with my Child's Teacher?
If they have to log on for a live session, please let us know the time and the program they will be utilizing. We will do what we can to have them logged on during that time frame. Please provide headphones for your child.
Will there be More than My Child in a Group?
Quite possibly. We have reserved enough space for the VLA group with adequate space. We also will assign another VLA assistant when needed. Each child will have their own small cubicle that we have set up.
Do I have to Bring a Laptop/Chromebook?
Outside laptops/Chromebooks ARE allowed, and even RECOMMENDED for ease of transition. We will provide you with a disinfectant wipe at drop-off for you to sanitize before we use.
We have tablets for use if needed, but please be ensure all your child's programs can be used on Fire tablets.
What Do I have to Provide?
- As mentioned above, a laptop/Chromebook is recommended.
- Usernames/passwords will be needed at drop-off, or your child must login prior to entering. These will NOT be saved and must be provided with each visit.
- We created a homework sheet that will be filled out with the assignments that are needed, or you can bring a list with you. We will sign off on each assignment that gets completed during our time so you know what was done.
- Headphones (We have two pairs that will be sanitized between use if they are needed)
